Historic panorama of Sololaki district in Tbilisi, photographed from the Astronomic Observatory, 1858

Comprehensive panoramic view of Tbilisi's Sololaki district captured by A. Ivanitski in 1858 from the Imperial Russian Astronomic Observatory. The photograph documents the urban character of this prestigious residential area during the mid-19th century, showing a dense mix of multi-story buildings with traditional Georgian balconies, European-style mansions, gardens with cypress and deciduous trees, and the developing street grid. Mount Mtatsminda is visible rising on the left side. This image represents important documentation of Tbilisi's urban expansion during the Imperial Russian period, capturing the architectural diversity and spatial organization of one of the city's most significant neighborhoods. Original albumen print, 19 x 24 cm.
