This photograph shows the Vera district of Tbilisi during the late nineteenth century. The image captures a developing suburban landscape with roads, a bridge crossing the valley, and scattered residential buildings. In the foreground stands a cross monument overlooking the district, while a horse-drawn carriage travels along the road. The photograph documents the early stages of urban expansion beyond the historic center of Tbilisi.
