This photograph represents a staged figure study, dated 1895, created by photographer Sergei Margulov. The image depicts a reclining male figure posed with several objects, including a jug and a firearm, arranged within an interior setting.

Such studies were commonly produced by photographers experimenting with composition, lighting, and narrative staging. In the late nineteenth century, members of photographic societies often created similar studies as part of their technical and artistic exploration of photography.
