This photograph depicts Alexander Digmelov, one of the pioneers of Georgian cinema. Digmelov began working in cinematography in 1910 and played a significant role in the development of early Georgian film as a cameraman, filmmaker, and memoirist of the formative period of cinema in Georgia.

The image originates from Digmelov’s personal archive and forms part of a much larger photographic collection documenting both his professional activity and everyday life.
