Old Tiflis and Narikala Fortress — View of the Cliff Houses

View of Old Tiflis with wooden balcony houses built along the cliffs beneath Narikala fortress.

Old Tiflis houses beneath Narikala fortress.

This photograph by David Guramishvili shows the historic district of Tiflis beneath the Narikala fortress. The image captures the densely built wooden balcony houses perched on the cliffs above the river valley. Such views document the unique architectural character of Old Tiflis in the late nineteenth century, where traditional Georgian urban houses were adapted to the steep terrain surrounding the fortress.
