This photograph shows the Hotel ORIENT located on Glovin Avenue in Tbilisi during the mid-19th century. Designed by architect O. Simonson, the building represents early urban commercial architecture of Imperial-era Tiflis. The image documents both architectural form and everyday street life of the period.
